Photobackup acrosync5/11/2023 For Mac computers, ‘Remote Login’ must be turned on. There is no need to install special software on these computers. PhotoBackup works with most Mac or Linux computers, or Network Attached Storage devices like those made by QNAP and Synology. Public key authentication for ssh login is also supported. The default is rsync over ssh, but PhotoBackup can also connect to an rsync daemon directly. Only new photos and videos will take up space. With this option on, for every backup PhotoBackup will create an incremental snapshot on the computer that shares the same copies of old photos and videos existing in previous snapshots. If you never delete photos or videos backed up to the computer, you may disable this option. So if some photos and videos are deleted on the computer, PhotoBackup will not attempt to upload them again. By default PhotoBackup skips photos and videos that have been uploaded before. If you like to edit photos on your iOS devices, this option should be turned on. By default, PhotoBackup will always upload the original, highest quality version (for instance, RAW files if they are imported). Backup the current, rendered version if the photos have been edited. ![]() ![]() Select any number of photos and videos to backup instead of all photos and videos.PhotoBackup also provides several very useful options for advanced users: Unlike other popular file transfer protocols like ftp or sftp, the rsync protocol is to only one that verifies every transferred file with a checksum, thus file corruption can never happen. The rsync protocol is fast, efficient, and smart enough to skip photos and videos that exist on the computer. Under the hood, PhotoBackup uses the rsync protocol to upload photos and videos. This ensures that every photo and video will get backed up. PhotoBackup will backup everything in the Camera Roll, which includes those taken by the camera, those imported from a SD card, and those saved by other apps. There is no need to hand pick photos or videos one by one. On subsequent backups, only new photos and videos since last backup will be uploaded. Once it is configured, all you need to do is to tap the green button to start the backup. You just need to select the computer from a list of available computers (alternatively you can enter directly the host name of the IP address of the computer), type in the username and password for logging into the computer, and then select the folder to backup to using a built-in remote folder browser. With PhotoBackup, you can easily upload and backup all your photos and videos on your iOS devices to your own computers that run Mac OS X or Linux, without the need to plug iPhone/iPad into the computers via USB, and without the need to install additional software on the computers.

The who mods5/11/2023 ![]() The mods and rockers conflict led to a moral panic about modern youth in the United Kingdom. Members of the rockers subculture (associated with motorcycles and leather biker jackets) sometimes clashed with the mods, leading to battles in seaside resorts such as Brighton, Margate, and Hastings in 1964. Cathy McGowan, who hosted the television pop music show Ready Steady Go!, became known as the "Queen of the Mods" (a title sometimes also applied to singer Dusty Springfield and model Twiggy). Lesser-known British artists associated with the 1960s mod scene include: The Action, Zoot Money and The Creation. They also developed a distinct brand of British beat music and R&B, exemplified by artists such as Georgie Fame, The Animals, The Small Faces, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, and The Spencer Davis Group. This can be seen in the cover for The Who's album, Quadrophenia, which depicts the main character, Jimmy, on his scooter looking into his four rear-view mirrors.Īs the lifestyle developed and was adopted by British teenagers of all economic strata, mods expanded their musical tastes beyond jazz and R&B - to also embrace soul (particularly records on the Atlantic, Stax, and Tamla Motown labels), Jamaican ska and bluebeat. After a law was passed requiring at least one mirror be attached to every motorbike, many mods added 4, 10, or even 32 mirrors to their scooters as a mockery of the new law. One reason for this is that public transit stopped relatively early, and scooters were cheaper than cars. They typically used scooters for transportation, usually either Vespa or Lambretta. Mods gathered at all-night clubs such as The Scene and The Flamingo in London, and Twisted Wheel Club in Manchester, to show off their clothes and dance moves. The 1959 novel Absolute Beginners by Colin MacInnes has often been cited as an inside look at the late 1950s teenage London culture that spawned the 1960s mod scene. Eventually the definition of mod expanded beyond jazz to include other fashion and lifestyle elements, such as continental clothes, scooters and to a lesser degree a taste for pop art, French New Wave films and existentialist philosophy. ![]() Originally the term mod was used to describe fans of modern jazz music (as opposed to trad, for fans of traditional jazz). The Teddy boys were influenced by American rock n' roll, wore Edwardian-style clothing, and got pompadour or quiff hairstyles. ![]() It is a popular belief that the mods and their rivals, the rockers, both branched off from the Teddy boys, a 1950s subculture in England. Their all-night urban social life was fueled, in part, by amphetamines. These early mods were generally middle class, and were obsessed with new fashions and music styles, such as slim-cut Italian suits, modern jazz and rhythm and blues. The mod subculture began with a few cliques of teenage boys with family connections to the garment trade in London in 1958. Twisted Fork opened just over two years ago and the restaurant works with over 33 local farmers and producers. Chef Debra Poulin and her team strive to showcase inspired cuisine and local farmers and producers with a seasonal menu. I would highly recommend going to the Twisted Fork.Twisted Fork is located in St Paul, Alberta with an incredible view and even more incredible menu. My check was under $40 for fresh seafood, alcohol, and a entertainment. Plus, it’s just fun! The prices are very fair. It’s a great place to try out something new because you can trust that the dish will impress you. The Twisted Fork is more than a meal it’s an experience. Jay is loud and a little unpredictable while Nancy is more modest and even-toned. Jay and Nancy kept us entertained with cute anecdotes and back-and-forth banter. Also, they have a full bar with a good selection of draft beers including Wormtown (bonus points) to enjoy while you wait. Considering the level of quality and refinement, I thought the length of service was justified. Service was a little long, because, as Jay explained, they have a rather small kitchen with three burners. There were a few others at the table that ordered same dish. It really complimented the scallops and the blood orange olive oil, which gave the plate a little bit of tartness and a little bit of sweetness. The puree was velvety smooth and perfectly balanced. WOW! The scallops were great but the standout component of the dish was the parsnip puree. It was a higher quality of entertainment than I expected on a Tuesday night.įor dinner, I ordered the Seared Scallops served on a parsnip puree topped with a bacon emulsion (made with bacon from BT’s Smokehouse in Sturbridge) and drizzled with a blood orange olive oil. Meanwhile every now and then Jay would yell something to us through the window in the kitchen. Nancy told charming stories as she took our order. Nancy waited on our group with another server while Jay prepared our meals in the kitchen. Jay and Nancy, his wife and business partner, are playful and friendly. It was not on the menu, but if they’re reading this, I hope they consider adding it. This fully cooked sow was later served as a welcoming course to our group in the form of slow-cooked shredded pork tacos with jalapeño slaw and a side of truffle fries. If you’re like me, you look at a restaurant’s menu in advance. In the weeks leading up to my visit to the Twisted Fork, I wondered if Uncle Jay’s savory reputation would match his menu and flavors. Audioswitcher 645/10/2023 Next was to connect it up to my iPhone (without the 10K pull down) but it just didn’t sound right, I found that adding a 10K load resistor to ground solved the issue. The first thing to do was to test the microphone on the iPhone speakers (connected to the op-amp output before the 10uF cap) and it worked fine. I changed the 10uF capacitor to a 0.1uF to give a quicker response when powered up and reduced the boost to 26x for testing. The configuration above boosts the microphone’s output (which is AC coupled) by 100x and the 10K/10K divider on the non-inverting side keeps the opamp’s output at half of VCC so that when sounds are produced there will be an AC waveform (e.g with VCC/2 being 2.5V, we could get a waveform that goes 1.5V to 3.5V) just before the 220uF capacitor.Īfter doing a bit of researching and testing, I’m using a 1.5K resistor for the iPhone microphone which is what I’ve heard that’s what the iPhone uses to power it. I firstly tried a non-inverting opamp configuration but it didn’t turn out to be as good as the inverting one above. ![]() I found an LM358 op-amp inverting circuit which we’ll use to start off with (shown above). Now it’s back to making a boost circuit for the microphone, I looked around for a low cost op-amp and found the LMV358 which is just like the LM358 and it’s rail to rail. I had the Ti SN74LVC1G3157 SPDT switch on hand and it should do the trick, just hook up 3 of these for the mic and speakers. ![]() It turns out that the microphone was a little hard to hear so after removing the 1.5K resistor it sounded better but it wasn’t loud enough unless you place the mic close to your mouth.Īfter speaking with a colleague, the idea came about of being able to switch between an iPhone and the work desk phone easily, it shouldn’t be a problem since we can an analog switch to do this. The first step was to build a Snom 4P4C to TRRS cable, I used a 220 ohm resistor for protection to find the left/right speakers and then used a 1.5K resistor for the microphone. There are some headset/headphones options available, the Snom uses 4P4C / RJ9/RJ10 connectors but I’ve always got my iPhone headphones on, so I’d like be able to use them on the Snom phone. ![]() At work, we use Snom phones and we take quite a number of calls every day, when you use the handset and need to type it’s a bit difficult. |
